The Resilience Series: Alleviating Anxiety and Negative Emotions
Negative events such as the current COVID-19 situation can bring about anxiety and negative emotions. And we often have no control over these negative events. But we do have an innate ability to rise above these negative emotions.
This interactive webinar will explore the science behind our ability to thrive amid adversities.
What you will learn:
- Gain awareness of how anxiety and negative emotions arise
- Learn that it is within our control to manage these negative emotions
- Gain confidence in our innate ability to adapt and grow amid adversities
This session is part of The Resilience Series, organised by Happiness Initiative in partnership with National Youth Council.
Yap Weiren, Operations Director, The Lion Mind
Having succeeded in earning his degree in Maritime Business, Weiren landed onto his dream job in a ship broking company. However, the dream job soon became a nightmare. As things went wrong at work (as they normally would), Weiren began to develop self-doubts. Coupled with a vicious cycle of burnout, he soon went into a downward spiral.
Defeated, dejected, and mentally damaged, what did Weiren do to break free of these damaging beliefs? His traumatic experience further inspired him to set up The Lion Mind to destigmatise counselling.
